With All My Heart

Chapter 4

The guards looked up at her expectantly.

"Okay, stop me if you’ve heard this one," she grinned. "There’s an old man - a sailor, who saves up his money and goes out to find himself a lady of the evening."

Daniel rolled his eyes, grinning.

"I could have said whore," Casey grinned. "Anyway, this old sailor finally finds a hooker, and goes to her room. He’s doing his thing, thinking that even at his age, he’s still got it. He tells her that he had been a sailor when he was younger, and that no matter what port he was in, he'd always asked the lady he was with if he was doing all right. So he said he was wondering if he was doing all right now. So the hooker sighs and says, 'well, old timer, right now you’re at three knots.' 'Three knots?' he says. 'Yep three knots. You’re not hard, you’re not in, and you’re not getting your money back'."

The young Marines howled with laughter, repeating the punch line to one another.

"You’re such a hussy," Daniel grinned.

"You love me anyway," was the smiling reply.

"I damn well do love you." He kissed her cheek.

They shared the elevator with several SG personnel, all who grinned broadly when Casey gave Daniel a deep kiss when she got off at her level. She stepped out of the elevator and winked at him, blowing a kiss toward him. He "caught" the kiss, and blew one back to her.

"Your wife sure is something," one of the techs said, smiling at Daniel.

"She sure is."

"I hear that she’s going to give dirty dancing lessons in the Pit."

Daniel grinned. "Yeah. She’s roped me into helping her…I have to be her partner."

One of the young Airmen snorted. "Man, throw a rope like that around me!" He looked nervously up at Daniel. "Uh, no offense, Doctor Jackson."

"None taken."

"Doctor Jackson, can I ask a personal question?" the young SF asked.

"You can ask, don’t know that I’ll answer," Daniel replied.

"Well, sir, I was just wondering, is it difficult to be married to a woman like Mrs. J?"

Daniel frowned slightly. "You would think it would be…she's gorgeous and there's always the chance that some other guy could try to take her. But no, it’s not. I’m crazy in love with her, and she lets me know every day in a dozen different little ways that she’s crazy in love with me. We’re lucky, I guess."

The young man nodded. "Sure hope I can meet somebody half as great as your wife."

"I hope so too. There’s nothing that compares to being with your soul-mate." He stepped off the elevator, and whistled all the way to his office. He stopped short when he saw Betsy sitting in his chair. "What are you doing here?"

She looked at him, stripping him with her eyes. "I just came here to try and talk you out of this silly transfer business."

"Get out of my office."

Betsy jumped to her feet, and raced around the desk, throwing her arms around his neck. "Oh, Daniel, we could be so happy together! Just say the word and I’m yours. I’ll take whatever you have to offer me. If all you want is a…mistress, well, I’ll be your mistress."

Daniel pulled her arms away from him, and pushed her, none to gently, into the corridor. He looked up to see Casey standing there, her arms folded in front of her. He watched her for a second, then relaxed when he saw the smile on her face.

"Doctor Harris. Nice to see you again," she said. She held out a set of keys. "You left these in my purse, honey. Figured if you were going to get into that filing cabinet you might need them."

"Thanks, babe." He took them and shoved them into his pocket.

Casey stepped closer to Daniel, putting herself between him and Betsy Harris. "If I ever catch you near my Husband again, I will rip your face off."

"He doesn’t love you, he loves me. He was just telling me how anxious he is to be rid of you so that we can be together," Betsy said, a malicious smile on her face. "Weren’t you, darling?"

Daniel opened his mouth to speak, but Casey put her finger to his lips.

"He did tell you that if he leaves me, I get the house, the jeep, and the office? I also get to stay here, and he has to leave Cheyenne Mountain."

"Don’t be absurd," Betsy sneered.

"It’s true. Just ask Jack. It’s in our pre-nup agreement."

Betsy looked up at Daniel suspiciously. "You have a pre-nuptial agreement?"

"Doesn’t everybody?" Daniel asked innocently.

"I get the bank account, too. Yep, if Daniel ever decides to leave me for some cheap bimbo, I get it all. He gets…whatever I’m generous enough to let him leave with. I might let him have his clothes." Casey reached up and pulled a pendant from beneath Daniel’s shirt, then pulled the matching half from beneath hers. "Do you see this, Betsy? It’s symbolism, but maybe you’ll be able to get it. We’re two halves of a whole. Daniel is the best part of me."

"And Casey is the best part of me," Daniel said.

"So, cupcake, get this through your head. He’s mine. Always has been. Always will be. And if you don’t stay away from him, they will never find your body," Casey hissed.

"Is that a threat?"

Casey looked at the woman. "No, cupcake, that’s a promise." She turned around and kissed Daniel. "I have to get back to the gym, can you handle her, or should I take her out now?" she whispered.

Daniel grinned. "I can handle her. I’m calling the MPs. I’ve had enough," he replied.

With a nod and another kiss, Casey walked back down the corridor. Daniel watched until she was on the elevator, unaware that his love and desire for his Wife was written plainly on his face.

Betsy Harris looked at him, and realized, even in her psychotic state, that she had lost. Without another word she turned and left him alone in his office.

They were eating lunch together when Jack joined them. "I did a little research on Betsy Harris. Seems that she’s left three research institutes due to ‘emotional breakdowns’. I think that’s a fancy way of saying she’s nuts. Anyway, I have copies of all the surveillance tapes, so she can’t do anything but leave quietly."

"Good," Casey said. "I was getting worried that I’d really have to start looking for somewhere to hide the body!"

Jack sat back and grinned at Daniel. "So, Space Monkey, what’s this I hear about you and Casey teaching dirty dancing?"

Daniel rolled his eyes. "It’s all her idea."

Casey grinned. "Yeah, but it’s a good idea. Sam thinks so, too, cause she signed you guys up."

"She what?" Jack said, a pained look on his face.

Daniel laughed. "See ya in the Pit tonight, Jack."

Jack ignored him and turned to Casey. "I am so going to get you for this."

"Promises, promises," Casey taunted as she stood to leave. She leaned over and kissed Daniel. "I love you, My Heart," she whispered.

"I love you too, Star of My Heart," he whispered in reply. He watched her leave, then caught sight of several other men who were watching her. He grinned. They could look. But she would never see them. She was his. He was hers. They belonged to one another. His pulse raced faster at that thought. He turned his attention back to Jack, his heart safe in the hands of his Wife.
